Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the month-end closing process. This position prepares journal entries, reconciles accounts from the general ledger, and prepares month-end reports. This position examines a variety of financial statements and documents for completeness, accuracy and conformance with accounting requirements, and prepares projections of accounting data to show effects of proposed changes on income and financial condition. Responsibilities Analyze data and create monthly and ad hoc reports. 10% Assist with the preparation of quarter-end closings. Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with accounting guidelines and US GAAP, as well as in the preparation of working papers for quarterly and annual audits as well as SEC reporting. 15% Coach and mentor staff accountants. 15% Deal with new and/or complex accounting of company initiatives or structural changes. 10% Prepare journal entries and assist in the month-end closing process. 10% Reconcile and research complex and high-risk accounts from the general ledger. 20% Review and approve all monthly and year-end closing journal entries and reconciliations. 20% Qualifications Education: Required: Bachelor; Finance or Accounting Preferred: Master/Advanced; MBA Languages: Required: English Work Experience: Required: 5 years experience in public accounting. Proficiency with MS Office (Excel and Access). Knowledge of internal control processes; sarbanes Oxley and related reporting requirements Working knowledge of GAAP Knowledge of COSO framework for internal controls.
