About this job

Job Description

  • This is a Permanent opportunity, this position is responsible for fabricating, modifying, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining ground, airborne, and electronic equipment such as UAV, ground control stations, and ground support equipment in accordance with established technical specifications, engineering instructions, and technical orders / procedures.

  • Perform work involved in routine disassembly, repair, assembly, testing and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment, and accessories.

  • Constructs individual components of electronic equipment following detailed schematics, layout diagrams, and work instructions

  • Corrects minor discrepancies by removal, repair, or repair of defective or deleted parts of aircraft electrical systems

  • Performs limited functional checks on existing and newly installed aircraft electrical systems and equipments

  • Performs routine inspections on systems and equipment

  • Troubleshoots, test, and document findings

  • Repairs or replaces components based on test results

  • Fabricates, upgrades, routes, and installs wiring harnesses

  • Disassembles, assembles, and adjusts electronic equipment

Qualifications

  • Entry Level to 5+ years experience as an avionics technician, working on any platform will be considered.

  • Candidates must be able to read schematics and have a strong background and understanding of basic electronics theory.

  • Candidates MUST be able to obtain a secret level security clearance however a current clearance is not required for consideration.

  • Candidates must be willing to relocate to the flight test area and deploy on a rotational basis as needed. Qualified candidates will have prior Organizational Level / Flightline experience for consideration.

Work Environment

  • This position is located with their Flight Operations facility in Palmdale, CA.

  • This organization values on-going education and provides extensive training during employment as well as education reimbursement.

  • The work can be in fast paced, high stress environments.

  • Candidates must be willing to deploy as needed, average deployments will be four (4) months per year. Deployments can be to any and all locations including potentially hazardous locations, housing varies and may be tent style housing

Pay Details

  • 70K-120K/yr
  • Candidates can earn up to 180% of the base pay rate while deployed depending on the location where deployed.
