About this job

Responsible for supporting all automation activities related to optimal function of the automation equipment within a high-pressure die casting process, robotic cells, and CNC machining area.

* Troubleshoot robotic and automation systems, using knowledge of microprocessors, programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, sensor or feedback systems, hydraulics, or pneumatics.
* Determine causes of operational problems or failures within automation equipment.
* Disassemble and reassemble robots, automation, or peripheral equipment to make repairs such as replacement of defective circuit boards, sensors, controllers, encoders, and servomotors.
* Assemble equipment or components.
* Maintain electromechanical equipment and back up other maintenance personnel.
* Perform preventive or corrective maintenance on robotic, automation systems or components.
* Maintain service records of robotic equipment or automated production systems.
* Maintain operational records or records systems.
* Install, program, or repair programmable controllers, robot controllers, end-of-arm tools, or conveyors.
* Program robotic equipment.
* Maintain electromechanical equipment.
* Document robotics test procedures and results.
* Prepare procedural documents.
* Document design or operational test results.
* Align, fit, or assemble component parts using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, templates, or microscopes.
* Attach wires between controllers.
* Test performance of robotic assemblies, using instruments such as oscilloscopes, electronic voltmeters, or bridges.
* Test performance of electrical, electronic, mechanical, or integrated systems or equipment.
* Develop robotic path motions to maximize efficiency, safety, and quality.
* Modify computer-controlled robot movements.
* Train operators or other personnel to install, use, or maintain robots.
* Train personnel on proper operational procedures.
* Program complex robotic systems, such as vision systems.
* Assist engineers in the design, configuration, or application of robotic systems.
* Design electromechanical equipment or systems.
