The desired candidate for this dynamic opportunity will be considered an equipment technician and will work on the day shift.
This position performs a variety of duties related to the setup, processing, issuing of equipment and supplies at UNC Hospitals and related clinics. Employees work independently performing duties in accordance with standardized procedures, under the close supervision of a technical or administrative supervisor.
Primary responsibilities are:
1. Operational turnover of the surgical rooms.
2. Machine/equipment readiness and troubleshooting.
3. Stocking supplies, and transport of specimens, blood, beds, and other supplies found throughout the hospital for surgical use.
Patient contact and heavy lifting is required. The ability to use appropriate PPE is required. Hospital and/or operating room experience is a plus.
Requires high school diploma or equivalent and any combination of training and/or experience that provides the ability to perform the assigned tasks.
Prefer six months of hospital related experience involving direct patient care and/or cleaning of an operating room; knowledge of asceptic principles, surgical procedures, occupational hazards and safety precautions.
