WELLNESS CENTER ATTENDANT-ROCK WALL

Location: Wellness Centers

Scheduled Work Hours: Rotating

The Wellness Center Attendant should have a teamwork mentality. They should be proactive and able to jump in to any situation and help when the need arises. They will become cross trained to work in multiple departments including: Member Services, Climbing Wall, Fitness Floor, Aquatics and Stay-n-Play/Supervised Play. The WCA can learn quickly on the job and will be a model customer service agent in every department. You should expect to: Wear a smile at all times, assist your team energetically, provide help unprompted, give exceptional service to Every Member, Every Time, Every Where.

Some responsiblites include: enforcing policies throughout the facilities, performing member check-in and registration services, assisting members with exercise equipment orientations and safety, belaying members on the climbing wall, lifeguarding the pool, assisting with track out camps and other youth oriented activities, cleaning equipment and restocking items as needed.

Prefer 6 months previous fitness center experience. Prefer previous rock wall or climbing experience. Prefer 1 year of previous aquatics experience.


Requires High school Diploma or GED. Current CPR certification required or able to obtain with 30 days of hire.


Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification within one (1) month from date of hire.
Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification within 90 days from date of hire.

Must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Must have an enthusiastic team oriented attitude. Capable of lifting towel bins, minor exercise equipment and able to perform a water rescue. Able to work independently and show initiative. Must possess strong multitasking abilities and time management skills. Knowledge of and understanding of fitness and health including cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility and body composition. Knowledge of and risks associated with exercise participation. Ability to use a computer, word processing programs and other software as determined for the job or able to learn. Be able to speak clearly and articulate instructions.
