The Director of Technical Accounting has visibility to senior management levels throughout the organization. The responsibilities of this role include developing corporate policy and procedures (P&P), assisting the management team to drive understanding of technical issues and process changes in the organization, and provide oversight for all aspects of GAAP, reporting, M&As and all accounting issues. This position has worldwide responsibility with oversight into the consolidated Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and other externally reported financial results. Provides guidance and insights on all accounting practices in accordance with GAAP and manages corporate assets with fiduciary responsibility to shareholders Provides insights and assistance on various reporting, corporate consolidations and compliance activities. Involved in M&A and transactional activities to provide accounting insights and participates in the integration process. Works with Corporate Planning and the business units (SBUs) to ensure the accounting process is integrated with planning for management information reporting. Works with Corporate Tax and Treasury on investment, hedging and accounting matters. Manage external audit relationship and ongoing requests. Undertake the full range of duties relevant to the leadership, management and development of the team to ensure their performance meets and or exceeds both the business and their own personal goals/objectives Maintain a positive, results orientated work environment, building partnerships and modeling Participate in formal staff review processes e.g. performance and salary reviews to corporate standards and timescales. Member of finance management team will lead P&P process development Updates, distributes and leads training on new and revised accounting policies and practices Involved in the monthly closing process to ensure corporate consistency, accuracy and timeliness of P&P. Involved in specific issue resolution.
