Description Standard Qualifications: Utilizing advanced digital technology and an accomplishedmedical staff,Southern Hills Hospitalprovides the communities of southwest Las Vegas with emergency and pediatricemergency services, behavioral health inpatient and outpatient programs forages 55 and older, an accredited Chest Pain Center, a Certified Primary StrokeCenter, OB-GYN and diagnostic imaging and surgical services. Position: RN CC - FT Mixed - Emergency Room The registered nurse is aregistered professional nurse who participates as an active member of theNursing Team on the assigned unit/department. The registered nurse assumes responsibility for coordinating safe,efficient, and therapeutically effective nursing care for patients on theassigned unit/department. Principleresponsibilities include participating in strategic planning, service delivery,program development, evaluation and implementation, budget and resourcemanagement, cost control, contract compliance and quality improvement. In addition, the registered nurse supportspatient safety initiatives and quality improvement activities. The registered nurse mayalso work as a registered professional nurse in the capacity of Charge RN inaddition to being a clinical nurse providing care for patients for an assignedtime. The registered nursemaintains current competency with nursing skills required for the assignedunit/department, and demonstrates knowledge regarding Standards of Care andStandards of Practice in the assigned area. He/She demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth & developmentover life span, and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of patientstatus, and to interpret the data appropriately to identify patientrequirements specific to the patients age. The registered nurseremains calm in crisis and emergency situations, and directs staff members asappropriate. The registered nursemaintains professional and effective working relationships with all members ofthe Health Care Team.
