Description Standard Qualifications: SpotsylvaniaRegional Medical Center (SRMC) is a 133-bed, general acute care hospitaloffering a 24-hour emergency department, advanced-technology operating rooms,CT, MRI, and nuclear medicine and cardiac catheterization capabilities. SPECIFICELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Performsinitial and on-going physical and psychosocial assessment according to acceptedstandards of nursing practice. 2. Assessesplans and evaluates patient care needs. 3. Carriesout physician orders. 4. Administersprescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs. 5. Participatesin treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals,objectives and interventions appropriate to the age-related andproblem-specific needs of each patient. 6. Implementsnursing plan of care for assigned patients and conducts and/or co-leads grouptherapy sessions for patients. 7. Evaluatespatients response to interventions and revises nursing plan of care as needed. 8. Collaborateswith the treatment team to revise goals, objectives and interventionsappropriate to the changes in patient status. 9. Monitors,records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizingcomputerized documentation systems. 10. Instructsand educates patients and families. 11. Assessesand coordinates patients discharge planning needs with members of thehealthcare team. 12. Providesage and culturally appropriate care. 13. Orientsand mentors new staff members. 14. FollowsStandard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
