Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg - FT Day

Description Standard Qualifications: Position Summary: Under general supervision theStaff RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policiesand procedures of Medical Center of Lewisville. In collaboration with patient, patients family and other members of thehealth care team, the clinical RN is responsible for assessing the nursing careneeds of patients, planning interventions and evaluating outcomes of care. The RN provides direct care and/or supervisesnursing care of LVNs and non-licensed nursing staff. The RN is responsible for providing careconsistent with the Nursing Departments policies, procedures and standards ofpractice. RNsare responsible for providing care, which is appropriate to the age specific (adolescent, adultand geriatric patients),developmental and safety needs of the assigned patient population. In addition to the RN duties andresponsibilities, the RN scope includes charge duties. The charge nurse makes patient assignmentsand supervises and directs the staff and unit activities for the assignedshift.
