Patient Safety Attendant

Job Details

This position requires travel to all 3 hospital locations.

Responsibilities:

Provide one to one appropriate observation or frequent safety checks on those patients identified as a suicidal, high risk for falls, wandering or self-injury throughout the shift at the direction of the RN assigned to the patient.

Provide appropriate skill level to perform interventions/procedures as directed.

Activities such as assisting other clinical staff with care, and assisting the patient to eat are appropriate if the activity does not take attention away from the patient.

Accompany the patient to procedures off of the patient care unit.

Receive and provide a face-to-face report.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED.

Previous experience in a hospital or patient care setting preferred.

Ability to perform skills according to patient care needs and apply skills for the care role with successful completion of unit specific training.

Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

Ability to organize, prioritize and manage time.

Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, extended shifts and/or extra shifts, various locations, sometimes on short notice.
