Procurement Specialist
temp-to-hire role in the Procurement department at $15 / hour ($45,000 + benefits upon hire).
Position Summary:
Acquire materials for trailer productions and to ensure adequate inventory level. Contributing to material cost savings and providing ideas. Communicating with vendors to uphold cost effective on time delivery.
Responsibilities:
55% Material Management
• Maintain adequate inventory level and prevent long term inventory
• Review Open Purchase Orders and Open Purchase Requisition reports daily
• Handle claims and rejected materials
• Resolve shipment discrepancies
25% Material Acquisition
• Issue PO on time
• Issue PO with accuracy
• Perform PO maintenance
• Assist in material cost savings and ideas
• Work with Import and Logistics to cross shipments in timely manner
15% Supplier Management
• Follow up on open PO’s with suppliers to ensure cost effective on time delivery
• Communicate and maintain good relationship with suppliers
• Gain knowledge of supplier background and their products
5% Others
• Acquire quotes from vendors for Sales Dept.
• Maintain accurate prices in VC for sales to use for quoting trailers
• Understanding of Sales Shop order and BOM specifications
• Assist Accounting Dept. in resolving invoicing errors
• Perform other duties as assigned by upper management team or company
Required:
Bachelor or equivalent
Ability to work overtime as needed
Ability to travel to plants in Mexico
Intermediate level MS Office
Preferred:
Min. 1 year procurement/purchasing experience
