Engineering company is URGENTLY looking for a

Machinist Toolmaker
(2 positions)

Simi Valley, CA
$25.00 - $ 30.00 per hour

Essential duties are, but not limited to:

• Performs operations like roughing parts, tooling simple set ups drilling, hand taping and deburring
• Able to use precision instruments such as micrometers, verniers and indicators.
• Able to work with minimum supervision.
• Able to set up and operate CNC vertical milling machine.
• CNC and manual turning machining, CNC and manual drill presses and band saws
• Assist in planning & developing of the sequence of operation including layout, machining, fabricating and assembling of parts and tools developed to meet engineering standards and specifications
• Design and construct temporary tools and dies, jigs and fixtures that position work pieces for machining, tooling aids
• Apply shop techniques necessary to work metals & may recommend revision in design and/or substitutions in material based on machines ability or fabrication problems encountered.
  

Job Requirements & skills:

• High School graduate or GED
• 8 yrs experience in operating various production machine shop equipment
• Able to read prints, work from sketches and or work from verbal instructions
• Able set up & operate machine tools & metal CNC fabricating machines, such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, cut-off saws and other supporting tools &/or assist others in these functions.
• Use had tools for making layouts, measuring and performing finishing operations
• Use shop mathematics to provide dimensional reference for layout and alignment
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read & interpret documents in English, prints, manufacturing planning, safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports & correspondence and communicate in English
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measures, using whole numbers, common fractures and decimals
