Position Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for updating, evaluating and preparing information presented in external filings including financial statements, narratives, and other accompanying schedules, general ledger account analysis, journal entry and financial statement variance report preparation and technical accounting research.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with all external reporting, including SEC Reporting (10-Q/10-K), Earnings Calls, Earnings Releases, Bank Reporting, Census Reporting, and others, including the preparation of such reporting, providing supporting schedules, researching applicable GAAP/SEC rules and interaction with internal/external auditors.

• Perform technical accounting research and implementation of new pronouncements, including preparing supporting documentation of financial statement impact on a monthly/quarterly basis.

• Assist with internal financial reporting including preparation of monthly/quarterly closing entries and supporting work papers.

• Special projects and other duties including, but not limited to, documenting and implementing appropriate internal control processes and controls, implementation of new processes/software, interfacing regularly with other departments to drive process improvements, etc.

Scope and Impact:

This position will be working with various departments within the organization across multiple levels and will make recommendations to management that will be used to make decisions that impact the Company’s financial results.



Education and Qualifications

Education: 4 year accounting degree

Licenses/Certification/Registration: CPA, CMA and/or MBA a plus but not required.

Experience: 3+ years in Accounting, preferably in a public accounting environment, and/or retail experience.

Skills and Abilities:

• Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, accounting concepts and practices, and SEC reporting requirements
• Ability to work and prioritize in a complex and changing organization
• Experience working independently and in groups in order to achieve departmental goals
• Proficiency in spreadsheet and computerized accounting applications.
• Ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written form and relate effectively with others.
• Oracle and/or Cognos experience a plus
