External Description:

Registered Nurse Neuro ICU/Neuro Step-down
Responsible for the delivery of evidence-based patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation; responsible and accountable for planning, delegating and coordinating the nursing care rendered to patients, including assessment, interdisciplinary planning, patient and family education and support and the appropriate assignment of patient care to staff while maintaining standards of care.
Current New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required.
Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures, regulatory codes, personnel and administrative policies required.

Minimum of 1 year Critical Care experience or 1and a half years of step down unit/telemetry experience required. Cardiac and invasive monitoring knowledge and arrhythmia interpretation skills required.

BLS/AED training required and accepted from only 2 organizations:
1. American Heart Association-BLS/AED for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program
2. American Red Cross - CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
