About this unit: 3S medical Surgical

35 bed Medical Surgical Unit (24 monitored beds) which also provides cardiac monitoring. We care for patients with a wide range of diagnoses such as: CHF, COPD, Atrial Fib, Diabetes, and Pneumonia. Many of our patients are of the geriatric population and need assistance with ADLs.

Basic Function: Responsible for providing and coordinating comprehensive care of acutely ill patient. Provides care to all age groups through the proper utilization of the nursing process; assessment, formulation of nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of plan of care in accordance with established standards, policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines. Responsible for supervising nursing staff to care for groups of patients.

Requirements: Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing. BSN preferred. Licensed in the State of Illinois. Advanced skills in reading, writing and oral communication. Demonstrates knowledge of basic skills of professional nurse. 2-3 years' experience preferred. Demonstrates skills in the use of clinical information systems, basic skills in keyboarding and use of computer systems. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend and kneel, reach above head, lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. AMNHC
