About this job

DISH is a Fortune 200 company with more than $15 billion in annual revenue that continues to redefine the communications industry. Our legacy is innovation and a willingness to challenge the status quo, including reinventing ourselves. We disrupted the pay-TV industry in the mid-90s with the launch of the DISH satellite TV service, taking on some of the largest U.S. corporations in the process, and grew to be the fourth-largest pay-TV provider. We are doing it again with the first live, internet-delivered TV service – Sling TV – that bucks traditional pay-TV norms and gives consumers a truly new way to access and watch television.

Now we have our sights set on upending the wireless industry and unseating the entrenched incumbent carriers.

We are driven by curiosity, pride, adventure, and a desire to win – it’s in our DNA. We’re looking for people with boundless energy, intelligence, and an overwhelming need to achieve to join our team as we embark on the next chapter of our story.

Opportunity is here. We are DISH.

Responsibilities:

The Systems Analysts Team is a member of a highly-motivated group that gets to dive into how our systems work by partnering with multiple IT and business teams. We do this in order to evaluate and understand complex business problems in order to help support our fellow IT development teams. This role will challenge you as you look for new ways to investigate existing systems and provide analysis on system flows, process flows, requests/responses, and high-level logic for the service.

A Systems Analyst will possess the following competencies and perform the following duties:

  • Analytical skills to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Create targeted system analysis documentation for architecture teams and executives. Develop design and interface considerations, data analysis and systems testing. Possess the technical skills to understand the potential and limitation of the technology.
  • Elicit, identify, and document technical requirements.  Structure business problems into well-defined user stories. Create story maps, sequence diagrams, sample JSON, API Contracts, flow charts, or other technical documentation, as needed to support user stories.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders, product managers and team members to analyze information needs and functional requirements, and ensure the technical solution meets the business needs.
  • Self-motivated and takes initiative. Can work with autonomy and as a scrum delivery team member.
  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of executives, up to and including C-suite, of a Fortune 200 company; identify opportunities for improving existing processes and implementation of changes.
