The Zone Asset & Profit Protection Manager (ZMAP) provides disciplined leadership to the assigned Zone for the purpose of supporting the National Asset & Profit Protection Strategy. The ZMAP is responsible for a zone of stores typically within a metropolitan area that have high APP risk issues. The ZMAP must staff, acclimate, and coach a team of exempt and non-exempt managers and associates within their assigned stores. The ZMAP is responsible for improving overall profitability of their zone by collaboratively working with the Market Team and Store Management Team. The ZMAP will lead the Focus Store Program efforts in their assigned areas, ensure consistent execution of Asset & Profit Protection Programs and Processes, provide assessment of key functions within the store, and work collaboratively to develop and implement solutions.
Provides day to day leadership of Asset & Profit Protection function for an Zone consisting of 6-10 metropolitan stores. Leads a Team consisting of 6-9 Direct Reports and 30+ In-Direct Reports.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Performs analysis and assessments of Asset & Profit Protection function and operational performance that impacts overall profitability. Provides insight, solutions, and leadership in implementing corrective steps to drive improved performance.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, and develops Asset & Profit Protection Managers and associates
  • Develops and implements specific strategies/tactics to educate and motivate store teams to achieve improved profitability
  • Builds strong relationships within the community and judicial agencies that reflect the SHC Brand
  • Provides coaching and ultimate decision making on investigative efforts pertaining to theft/fraud/safety/ethical concerns within the assigned area
  • Conducts store visits on a regular basis to understand business, engage associates, develop talent, and improve profitability performance
  • Provides leadership and guidance for safety core processes to ensure that Members and Associates have a safe environment to shop and work(OSHA requirements and General Liability adherence). Reviews trends across multiple stores and partners with Market Teams to avoid costly mitigation.
  • Works collaboratively with the Market Team and other key partners to identify key issues, develop solutions, and implement plans to address areas of opportunity and leverage areas of strength.
  • Ensures effective utilization of resources to achieve business goals.
  • Shares best practices/opportunities with Market Teams to improve overall efficiency and performance.
  • Demonstrates courageous leadership by identifying and communicating potential ethical issues that must be addressed at the Store, Market, or Regional Level.
  • Provides a WOW Member Experience for external and internal members
  • Adapts own behaviors and communication to gain cooperation and commitment in situations where he/she has no direct authority.
  • Takes personal accountability for his/her own work and maintains high standards.
  • Considers cost, benefits, risks, implications, and impact when making and implementing Asset & Profit Protection strategies and tactics.
  • Performs supervisory functions, including but not limited to, making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting and terminating, conducting performance appraisals, and coaching and developing associates


Job Requirements:
  • Strong Leadership and Organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze information, identify root causes, and develop/implement business solutions in a collaborative fashion
  • Knowledge of assessing, selecting, and coaching associates preferably in a retail environment
  • Ability to form and maintain collaborative cross functional partnerships
  • Ability to influence activities and results of those who are not direct reports
  • MS Office, MS Project, and Data Analytical skills
  • Knowledge of store operations, inventory process, and retail finance
  • Effective oral and written communication skills to convey thoughts/ideas/action items with all levels of internal and external constituents.
  • Ability to complete long term planning processes to ensure effective prioritization, resource allocation, and time management
