Introduction:

A mid-sized manufacturing company in the Kenosha/Pleasant Prairie is looking for a 3rd Shift Quality Technician for their facility.

Qualifications:

BS OR Associate's Degree in the Sciences, background in the sciences or Food Quality experience 6 months of laboratory experience. Understands GMP or HAACP if no degree.

Job Description:

The QA Tech will split their time between the laboratory and the production floor. The techs will communicate their decisions on how they would like the rotation. Typically it is every other day, or weekly. Production Floor: The tech will check the lines once per hour(performing quality checks, label verification, looking for dents or deformities). However, line checks can take up to 30 minutes to complete inspection of. They will work with Certifications of Analysis and will match the product up to spec and look at CoAs. Regulatory work can also fall into this as well, as they don't have a separate department for that. Laboratory: Tech will typically go into the milling area and get samples. Solids tests take 10 minutes. Get tests going right away, will perform solids testing, typically with multiple samples. Other tests will include: titratable acidity, salt tests, Brookfield viscosity and Boswick tests.

Hours:

3rd Shift - 11:00pm-7:15am - Monday through Thursday or Friday. They try to have it be 4 10 hour shifts, but sometimes it can also be 5 8's, it will all depend on the workload. Schedules are based on need to fill orders.

Additional responsibilities will include: Putting products on hold, retaining samples and once a week or once a month pull expired product. R&D Manager sends samples to potential customers and they may want samples collected. Collect micro samples and send to 3rd party lab.

** Taste testing will be a regular occurrence in the lab. Could be every hour or even more frequent.
