Primary Purpose of Position:

Assists in the efficient installation, setup, repair and maintenance of factory equipment and factory functions.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:


Effectively performs scheduled preventative maintenance assignments as directed by supervisor.
Performs repairs and general maintenance in all areas of manufacturing plant.
Provides information as needed to maintain sufficient spare parts inventory.
Completes required paperwork.
Monitors quality of work output and performs corresponding machine repairs/adjustments to correct any quality issues.
Complies with assigned maintenance department goals and follows proper procedures in order to achieve these goals. Informs supervisor when it appears that goals will not be met.
Observes Plant safety rules. Assists in identifying and eliminating safety hazards and/or concerns.
Performs all job duties in a timely and efficient manner.
Assists in conducting operations so as to meet established cost standards for use of materials, supplies and equipment. Follow instructions in the most efficient use of tools, machines and materials.
Participates in 5S initiatives by maintaining a neat and orderly work area.
Facilitates team concepts by working cooperatively and productively with others in order to complete assigned tasks.
Reports any problems or concerns to supervisor.
Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself, or others, or to property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.
Requires regular attendance to perform essential job functions between the assigned start and end times for work.
Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skills necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.

Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience/Knowledge: One year related experience in a manufacturing environment. Must have demonstrated knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures within the maintenance field and experience in machinery trouble shooting and repair thereof.

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of production equipment.
Related Technical degree.
Licensed in Plumbing, Electrical or Welding preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot and program PLC?s, install and trouble shoot 24-120 volt control circuits.

TECHNICAL ROLE COMPETENCIES:

Comprehensive knowledge of functions such as planning, organizing, coordinating and directing.
Excellent communication skills.
Interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with individuals internal and external to the Company.
Ability to maintain composure under stressful situations.
Understanding of mechanical workings of a variety of production machinery.
Ability to prioritize projects.
Ability to analyze problems and make recommendations for corrective actions/solutions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Walking/standing approximately 85% of work time. Sitting at a work station approximately 15%
Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice.
Typical factory environment with concrete floors and moving equipment.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
