There will be no benefits offered. • This part-time teaching position provides instruction in the six educational functioning levels of the Adult Education Program to students with varying academic levels and interacts with and provides instructional and registration/intake-related services for potential and current students in a timely basis. Typical Duties and Responsibilities General Employee Responsibilities: • Comply with local, state, and federal guidelines and laws • Comply with Northeast State Community College and Tennessee Board of Regents policies, procedures, and guidelines • Comply with SACSCOC (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges) standards and guidelines • Promote and maintain College and TBR Mission, Vision, and Values  • Promote and comply with Northeast State Community College SAFE Campus programs • Maintain digital calendar and archive annually on June 30. Provide supervisor with access to calendar and an archived copy of calendar for annual performance review • Seek efficiencies and continuous improvement in both position and personal growth • Lead/promote College and TBR initiatives as they relate to this office • In all duties assigned, show a commitment to quality, customer service, and Northeast State Community College: to include students, College employees, and the community served by Northeast State  • Be an active and contributing part of the Northeast State Team • Follow professional code of conduct and ethics; maintain professional dress in compliance with expectations of the position • Complete other assignments as directed by supervisor/President  • Utilize effective people skills in working with internal and external customers Specific Role and Responsibilities: • Plan, teach and evaluate student work • Provide instruction for digital education classroom • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision • Work as part of a team • Accepts responsibility and is self-motivated • Displays effective multi-tasking and time management skills • Administer and interpret scores for CASAS and OPT examinations for student placement and instruction • Provide office coverage, customer service, provide assistance with student registrations, class assignment, attendance reports and student goals • Comprehends National Reporting System guidelines and requirements • Complete other assignments as directed by supervision Required Qualifications • Baccalaureate in Education or related field, or experience in teaching • Computer skills – Microsoft Office Suite, Word and PowerPoint • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Strong organizational and analytical skills • Ability to meet deadlines is an essential attribute • Must be able to work a flexible schedule • Travel to satellite class locations if necessary • Participate in local and state activities/staff development Preferred Qualifications • Tennessee Teacher's License • Experience in an Adult Education environment • Ability to meet deadlines • Knowledge of Data Management Systems • Grade, interpret, and analyze CASAS and Official Practice Test (OPT) • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel • Demonstrates command of content knowledge of current AE Curriculum and recommended resources Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Work Characteristics Pay Rate$20 - $24 per hour dependent on education and work experiencePosting Date10/06/2017Closing Date10/20/2017Open until FilledNoSpecial Instructions to Applicants Please submit the names and email addresses for a minimum of three references.
