Job DescriptionAs a Store Shift Leader you will be responsible for overall supervision and operation of store during a shift. You will ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members.Responsibilities* Make sure the customers are being taken care of and the store looks great at all times.* Surprise and delight the customers with consistent, delightful service.* Oversee entire store operations, with particular focus on cleanliness, fullness of product displays, signage quality, safety, and customer service.* Keep store environment clean and neat, upholding all standards pertaining to cleanliness, HACCP, and Team Member and customer safety.* Respond to all customer needs and concerns.* Assist teams as needed.* Set, and achieve, the highest standards in retail execution.* Lead by example.* Respond to concerns in the absence of Store Leadership.* Communicate regularly with Store Team Leaders regarding proper operations of the store.* Support regional vision and execute all regional directives and programs.* Complete all necessary paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.* Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.* Respond promptly to customer needs and questions and requests assistance when necessary, including answering the store phone system.* Perform other duties as assigned by the (Department Manager), Associate Team Leader (Assistant Department Manager), or Supervisor.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities* Demonstrates creativity in promoting sales, merchandising and/or marketing* Demonstrates appropriate decision making, critical thinking, analysis* Detail oriented, well organized and able to adhere to deadlines* Ability to understand Team Members' and store needs* Must take a creative and analytical approach to problem-solving* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with other Team Members and leadership* Ability to perform physical requirements of position* Ability to operate all necessary equipment* Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as required.Desired Work Experiences* One year of experience in a Leadership role or equivalent* Food and/or retail experience desirableAt Whole Foods Market we provide a fair and equal employment opportunity for all team members and candidates regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, or disability.
