Chicago office of a national law firm is seeking an experienced legal secretary to join our team. We are growing and are in need of additional support staff to assist our lawyers. Should be familiar with litigation work, court rules, and e-filing. Must be organized, detail oriented, dependable and proficient in Word. We have state of the art technology to make your job easier. Convenient location close to Union and Ogilvie train stations.

Experience Required:


  • Minimum of three years experience as a legal secretary in fast paced law firm environment with multiple attorney assignments.
  • Litigation experience required and specialty area experience required as appropriate to position.


Education Level:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Some college preferred or legal secretarial school.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Familiarity with and knowledge of court systems, court filing procedures and requirements.
  • Knowledge of applicable deadline/cut off dates for trial, discovery etc.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • Ability to listen, follow directions, attend to details and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to organize daily routine with changes and demands and to set priorities.
  • Knowledge of grammar, spelling and sentence construction.
  • Skill to utilize office machines such as photocopy, fax, computer, Equitrac, telephone switchboard.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of personnel.
  • Ability to communicate regarding job duties, court procedures, etc.
  • Advanced computer skills for word processing and related computer applications.
  • Skill and courtesy in scheduling multiple party meetings such as depositions etc.
  • Ability to report for work as scheduled and in a timely manner.
