A busy fabricating shop in Springdale is looking for a Shop Assistant. Most of the time will be spent MIG Welding corner beads onto metal enclosures. There will be times when help will be needed with other shop duties. This is a Full-Time, Temp to HIre position from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with occasional overtime. The positon will pay $13-$14 per hour.

Job Description:
- Operates safety equipment and uses safe work habits while performing job functions
- Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
- Ignites torches or starts power supplies and strikes arcs by touching electrodes to steel being welded
- Examines work pieces for defects and measures work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications
- Recognizes, set up, and operates hand and power tools common to the welding trade
- Responsible to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed
- Assists in shop at times with other machinery, labor and housekeeping
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Must give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Must have strong work ethic and work independently
