Our client has a successful tile and granite warehouse in the Mission Valley area and is seeking a customer service orientated warehouse person. The ideal candidate will have experience in working in a warehouse.

Pay is 14.00/hr.

Objectives:

To assist the Manager in providing the Customer with the best possible buying experience in product delivery and after-sale service.

To maximize the safe, efficient flow of product in and out of the warehouse.

Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

To operate forklift according to safety guidelines established during forklift training.

Criteria: Do not deviate from forklift operation procedures for any reason. Those procedures were established for the safely or Employees and Customers.

To load Customer vehicles with regard to the safety of the Customer and the vehicle.

Criteria: Take great care in loading products onto or into Customer vehicles without putting the customer at risk of injury or the vehicle at risk of damage.

To load and unload commercial and company trucks with regard to the safety of coworkers and the vehicles.

Criteria: Work carefully and know that procedural shortcuts are not worth the risk.

To keep on the lookout for safety hazards in the warehouse, and report any hazards to the Manager or Supervisor.

Criteria: Do not ignore potentially hazardous situations. Correct minor hazards such as binding loose product together or picking up strapping, wrapping, pallets, etc. Report major hazards, such as damaged racks or forklift problems, to the Manager or supervisor immediately.

To work effectively with other Employees by accepting, completing and handing off tasks.

Criteria: Cooperate with coworkers in completing tasks. Give assistance when appropriate or accept assistance when it will help complete the task. Accept tasks from others whenever possible.

To demonstrate a willingness and ability to work within a team environment. Criteria: (get along with coworkers on a day-to-day basis and when called upon to participate in special events, such as inventory and/or parking lot sale, to prepare Customer orders and transfers for shipment.

Criteria: Work cooperatively with others to pull the correct products from stock. Pack and palletize material efficiently and carefully to protect products and minimize breakage.

To pack orders accurately and fill out warehouse paperwork completely. Criteria: Pull orders from existing stock and/or prepacked orders. Always confirm that the products pulled match the products specified on the Pick ticket or transfer.

To sweep warehouse floors, parking lots, and loading areas. Also dismantle shipping bundles and crates and dispose of the debris.

Ability to use the four basic functions of a calculator to calculate figures and amounts.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
