Job Description

The Pediatric Health Services Director (RN) will:

  • Oversee services to clients and families to ensure standards of the highest quality of care and foster parent compliance for medical care for the youth in their home
  • Oversee the psychiatric visits, supervise the nurse rotation, and assist the agency Psychiatrist
  • Serve as a liaison with health and mental health care organizations providing care to youth, making on-site visits to these community-based programs
  • Identify resources and focus on preventive health services for youth and families
  • Respond to incident reports and requests for medical information 
  • Implement ongoing auditing of medical records to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies
  • Encourage and advance the use of Sanctuary Model tools: safety plans, community meetings, psycho-educational groups, team meetings, Red Flag reviews, treatment planning conferences (or similar), and self-care in the department/program to create a non-violent and trauma-sensitive culture
  • Handle other duties, as needed
Required Skills
  • 3+ years of related work experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Current American Heart or American Red Cross certification in Infant, Child and Adult CPR
  • Background working with the Pediatric population
  • Experience in a Leadership and/or Supervisory role
  • Patient oriented
  • Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
  • Able to multitask efficiently and effectively 
Desired Skills
  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Successful completion of New York State HIV Counselor training
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
