Job DescriptionThe Pediatric Health Services Director (RN) will:
- Oversee services to clients and families to ensure standards of the highest quality of care and foster parent compliance for medical care for the youth in their home
- Oversee the psychiatric visits, supervise the nurse rotation, and assist the agency Psychiatrist
- Serve as a liaison with health and mental health care organizations providing care to youth, making on-site visits to these community-based programs
- Identify resources and focus on preventive health services for youth and families
- Respond to incident reports and requests for medical information
- Implement ongoing auditing of medical records to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies
- Encourage and advance the use of Sanctuary Model tools: safety plans, community meetings, psycho-educational groups, team meetings, Red Flag reviews, treatment planning conferences (or similar), and self-care in the department/program to create a non-violent and trauma-sensitive culture
- Handle other duties, as needed
- 3+ years of related work experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current American Heart or American Red Cross certification in Infant, Child and Adult CPR
- Background working with the Pediatric population
- Experience in a Leadership and/or Supervisory role
- Patient oriented
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
- Able to multitask efficiently and effectively
- Master's Degree in Nursing
- Successful completion of New York State HIV Counselor training
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
