Pediatric Health Services Director (RN)

A nonprofit organization in New York City is currently seeking an experienced, licensed Registered Nurse (RN), with a strong Pediatric background, to join their staff as their new Pediatric Health Services Director. Under the supervision of the Senior Program Director for Health Services, the Pediatric Health Services Director (RN) will be responsible for overseeing treatment and family foster care for 300 participants, aged 0 to 21. The Pediatric Health Services Director (RN) will:

• Oversee services to clients and families to ensure standards of the highest quality of care and foster parent compliance for medical care for the youth in their home
• Oversee the psychiatric visits, supervise the nurse rotation, and assist the agency Psychiatrist
• Serve as a liaison with health and mental health care organizations providing care to youth, making on-site visits to these community-based programs
• Identify resources and focus on preventive health services for youth and families
• Respond to incident reports and requests for medical information 
• Implement ongoing auditing of medical records to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies
• Encourage and advance the use of Sanctuary Model tools: safety plans, community meetings, psycho-educational groups, team meetings, Red Flag reviews, treatment planning conferences (or similar), and self-care in the department/program to create a non-violent and trauma-sensitive culture
• Handle other duties, as needed

• 3+ years of related work experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current American Heart or American Red Cross certification in Infant, Child and Adult CPR
• Background working with the Pediatric population
• Experience in a Leadership and/or Supervisory role
• Patient oriented
• Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
• Great interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail
• Highly organized
• Able to multitask efficiently and effectively 

• Master's Degree in Nursing
• Successful completion of New York State HIV Counselor training
• Bilingual (English and Spanish)
