Job Description

American Airlines, Inc. has multiple openings for a Sr. Database Administrator to perform the following duties: As part of Platform Hosting Systems (PHS) database shared service team, responsible for supporting Oracle server software and related products that include installing, maintaining and tuning of the Oracle clusters. Provide database expertise in all phases of SDLC. Capacity planning and timely review of database and infrastructure architecture. Analyze complex database problems and implement solutions and workarounds. Perform regular database administration functions including monitoring, analysis and tuning of Oracle databases to achieve optimum performance. Define, implement, and maintain database security standards for the enterprise. Ensure compliance in related tasks with Enterprise policies and procedures. Evaluate new Oracle features and Oracle related products for the enterprise. Establish and maintain backup and recovery policies and procedures. Patch management and version control. Interface with Oracle corporation for technical support.

Job Qualifications

Master's degree in computer science, electronic engineering, computer engineering or related field, plus 3 years of experience in database engineering or database administration, and demonstrated experience in: Installing, Configuring, Administering, Upgrading and Migrating Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) for versions 10g/11g/12c including ASM; Maintaining the availability of Oracle Database versions 11g, 10g, 12c in all environments on both Solaris and Linux platforms; Installation, Configuration and Administration of MongoDB Database in Cloud Foundry; Configuring Disaster Recovery solution using Data Guard; Provisioning Databases in the Cloud using IT Automation tools (Ansible and YAML); RMAN Backup & Recovery and RMAN integration with Data Domain; Replication technologies (Golden Gate and Streams); Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g and 12c Installation, Configuration and Monitoring; Disaster recovery Setup and Monitoring; Shell and PL/SQL Scripting; Installation and configuration of ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana); User Management in compliance to PCI DSS standards; Setup and Maintenance of Oracle Engineered Systems and Integration with storage systems; Setup, Configure and Administer security tools and Integrate them with the Oracle engineered systems; Strong systems, database, application and storage troubleshooting skills. A bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience will be accepted in the alternative.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week/8 a.m.-5 p.m./M-F.
