Hotel Overview: Born of a golden era, the history of the Claremont dates back to the early days of the Gold Rush, when a Kansas farmer by the name of Bill Thornburg "struck it rich". The Claremont boasts an award winning Spa & the Club at the Claremont.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Executive Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
* Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow Colleagues
* Create a vibrant welcoming environment for our membership, colleagues and Hotel guests through engaging conversation and personalized service
* Relieve cooks and help in various areas of the Kitchen as required
* Use a broad knowledge of cooking techniques and food styles to ensure consistency
* Actively engage with guests to create custom F&B offerings based upon dietary preferences
* Assist and service all food items for a la carte andor buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standards
* Actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions in daily shift briefings
* Maintain proper rotation of product in all chillers to minimize wastage/spoilage
* Fill requisitions to ensure adequate materials and supplies for guest service
* Ensure storeroom requisitions are accurate
* Have full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotions
* Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
* Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
* Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
* Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in the Culinary field required
* Extensive experience with Food Allergies and Diets required. i.e. Lactose, Gluten Free, Heart Healthy, Paleo, RAW, Diabetic, Vegan etc...
* Experience with Health & Wellness Cuisine an Asset
* Smoothie & Juice bar experience an asset
* Journeyman's papers or international equivalent required
* Diploma/Certification in a Culinary discipline preferred
* Educational background in Health & Wellness/ Nutritional an asset
* Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications an asset
* Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
* Highly responsible & reliable with flexible work schedule
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
* Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
* Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
* Constant standing and walking throughout shift
* Pushing and Pulling on wheeled carts up to 80lbs
* Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
* Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling
* Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

Must have proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
