Job Summary

In charge of training, coaching and providing performance feedback and recognition to employees in a team and keeps management informed of issues. Supervises departmental work activities, ensures accuracy of employee timecards, staffing, and scheduling to achieve business objectives.

Job Responsibilities

* Trains and coaches employees and keeps management informed of issues. Meets with employees on a regular basis to provide employee with performance feedback.

* Conducts timely performance evaluations for the subordinate staff; sets specific, measurable and realistic performance objectives; provides constructive feedback and recognition.

* Supervises departmental work activities, ensures accuracy of employee timecards, staffing, and scheduling to achieve business objectives.

* Maintains knowledge of disease states along with related medications and supplies to ensure accurate and complete information and services are provided to patients. Enforces communication guidelines for technician in accordance with pharmacy law.

* Provides support to all areas of the facility and assists with completion of operational duties including but not limited to prior authorizations, scheduled first orders, compliance calls, insurance verification, follow-up, enrolling patients and issue resolution.

* Monitors, audits and reports daily team and individual performance statistics and assists with extrapolation of data from system applications to develop reports regarding productivity trends. Advises management, analyst and trainer of findings and trends.

* Assists in the development, updating and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures related to system applications, programs, processes and merchandise.

* Participates in the recruitment process of potential employees and performance management of current employees including but not limited to screening applicants, interviewing, employment decision, performance evaluations and terminations.

* Acts as an agent of the company by projecting a positive attitude, enthusiasm, team spirit and integrity in order to motivate the team, creating a positive work environment, and reaching and exceeding department goals.

* Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

* High School Diploma and at least 1 year experience coaching or leading a work team.

* At least 1 year experience typing a minimum of 25 words per minute.

* Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).

* Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).

* Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).

* At least 1 year experience communicating both verbally (on phone, one-on-one, to groups) and in writing (emails, letters, reports, presentations) to various audiences (work group, team, company management, prospective acquisitions, external clients).

* At least 1 year experience with analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.

* At least 1 year experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems

* At least 1 year experience in coaching, mentoring, and training staff.

* At least 1 year experience in managing teams across business units.

* At least 1 year experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.

* At least 1 year experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community and with vendors.

* Basic Internet Explorer skills to include opening a browser, typing in URLs in the correct location, using a search engine, bookmarking a site, navigating using back/forward/stop buttons, and filling out forms online.

* Basic level PC skills (for example: start up and shut down computer, use mouse to point and click, start and close programs, switch between programs, save files, print documents and/or access information on-line).

* At least 1 year experience directly managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work

* At least 1 year experience in indirect management of team members, including assisting in the development, training and assignment of work/projects to other team members.

* Willing to travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

* Associates or Bachelor's Degree.

* Pharmacy Technician License or Certification preferred unless required by state as granted by the state Board of Pharmacy or nationally recognized certification agency.

* At least 1 year experience in healthcare or pharmacy setting.
