The Payroll Tax Analyst owns the processes for payroll tax liabilities and associated returns ensuring the integrity of employee wage and tax data reported on the W-2 for an organization with a large employee base and multiple FEINs. Strong negotiator with states, localities and agencies. Prioritize eliminating and reducing tax liabilities for the organization.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
* Manage timely and accurate tax payments and tax filings for payroll taxes on a daily, monthly, and quarterly basis.
* Lead in coordinating internal and external audit compliance. Performs internal payroll tax audits. Prepares documents for various audits and required government reports. Drafts responses to related inquiries.
* Ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines and resolve any compliance issues through research and correspondence with taxing authorities
* Acts as escalation point supporting and partnering with teams in researching outstanding payroll tax issues and respond to employee tax questions.
* Remain current on legislation and regulatory ruling impacting payroll. Enforce adherence and advise management on required actions.
* Creates process documentation and implements process improvements. Create reports and tools to improve payroll accuracy and helps design new processes, procedures and audits in order to improve effectiveness, compliance, and best practices. Leads small projects related to tax processing, from creation of timelines, facilitation of meetings, delegation of duties, take notes and follow up and confirm completion of tasks.
* Ensure accuracy for quarterly and year end activities which includes balancing for W-2s and reconciling tax adjustments as needed

Job Requirements:
* Strong knowledge of payroll
* Ability to solve problems through quantitative and qualitative analysis in a team-based environment.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently, conduct research, formulate conclusions and present conclusions regarding complex business issues.
* Demonstrated ability to consult and interface with varying levels of management by leveraging expertise in subject matter and applying influencing skills. Can conceptualize from big picture down to detail level and generate innovative solutions.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver an exemplary customer experience by applying knowledge of trends and innovating to create next practices.
* Self-driven with ability to work independently and make decisions based on data.
* Strong interpersonal, business partnering and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Skills:
* Knowledge of PeopleSoft Payroll System
* Degree in Finance or Accounting
* Experience with BNA
