Tire Mechanic - Full-time

D.W, Cary Hauling, Inc. is a regional trucking company located in Ashland, VA.  We offer a diverse range of services to cover every aspect of heavy hauling and trucking for commercial and residential projects throughout central Virginia.  With a large fleet of dump trucks, flat beds, lowboys, and dump trailers we are able to haul and move natural materials such as soil, gravel, fill dirt, sand and large equipment such as loaders and excavators.

We currently have job openings for a TIRE MECHANIC. Please see the job specifications below:

Responsibilities:

• Provide top notch customer service
• Monitor, maintain, repair and replace tires on all company equipment
• Perform a daily yard check on all equipment on yard, repair all flat tires.
• Ensure that all tires are within proper pressure range and tread depths are measured and recorded.
• Identify tire construction, types of tire wear, and various tire damage types.
• Keep up with all tire inventory
• Maintain and operate company tools
• Keep all certifications updated
• Purchase and maintain personal tools
• Follow all safety procedures
• Work Monday – Friday, and weekends/overtime as needed

Requirements:

• Clean driving record
• Minimum of 2 years heavy truck tire experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to move tractor/trailer tires as needed, up to 100+ pounds
• Working cellular telephone
• Reliable transportation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Possess close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, clean vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• TWIC card a plus, but not required
