Job Summary
This is a notification of a full time (40 hour position), Masters Level Child Mental Health professional in the Michigan Child Collaborative Care (MC3) program. This position includes ongoing outreach, collaboration and communication with primary care providers in Washtenaw County and the surrounding region, provision of behavioral health resources for patients and families in the region and direct services to children and families in the primary care setting as an integrated behavioral health professional.
Responsibilities*
This position involves working in close collaboration with primary care providers in Washtenaw county and the surrounding region to provide behavioral health support for patients and families including: brief intervention with patients and families in a local primary care clinic, ongoing monitoring and support for adolescents with depression or anxiety, assisting with linkage to local resources and supports for primary care providers in regional catchment area, triaging and coordinating same-day psychiatry phone consultations, and coordinating regional outreach to eligible providers to engage them in MC3 services. The position involves direct patient care, phone triage, data entry and close collaboration and coordination with community providers.
Required Qualifications*
* Master's degree in social work, psychology, professional counseling or related field with appropriate licensure
* Child Mental Health Professional per Michigan Mental Health Code
* Experience working with primary care practices and/or knowledge of and experience with collaborative care models
* Knowledge of Community Mental Health Services Programs for children and families; knowledge of child mental health resources in Washtenaw County and surrounding region; and understanding of how to access the services
* Knowledge of Mental Health Code and regulations
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* Ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary medical team
Desired Qualifications*
* Knowledge of local and regional school systems and supports available for children and adolescents
* Knowledge of Department of Human Services, including child protection services, foster care services and supports available to children and adolescents
* Knowledge of Washtenaw County resources available to perinatal women (local home-visiting programs, mental health services, and other community-based support services and how to access them)
* Knowledge of specialty providers in Washtenaw County trained in evidence-based mental health interventions (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, TREM, etc.)
* Experience with brief interventions including behavioral activation, anticipatory guidance and motivational interviewing
