The Vice President, Global Card Program is a key member of the Loyalty organization and leadership team.  In partnership with several leading financial institutions, this role is responsible for the global portfolio of 12 cards in 5 countries with over $55B of card member spend.  This role is tasked with overall management of the co-brand card portfolios, leading the card partnerships with our bank partners, the financial performance, and expanding our card portfolio to new markets.  This role has P&L responsibility for a billion-dollar P&L and with a focus on:
  • growing the existing card member base
  • increasing spend of the existing portfolio
  • keeping our existing products relevant in the market
  • launching cards in new markets to extend loyalty beyond hotel stays, and
  • maintaining the financial performance and growth of the P&L.
     
    The leader is responsible for Co-Brand Business Development, Acquisitions, Loyalty, Branding and gift card teams.
     
CANDIDATE PROFILE
 
Education and Experience Preferred
 
  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or related major.
  • 12+ years of relevant professional experience in marketing, banking, or related function, demonstrating progressive career growth and pattern of exceptional performance.
  • Significant P&L responsibility, preferably overseeing a credit card portfolio, with track record of growth.
 
 
 
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
 
Co-Brand Management and Business Development
  • Oversees the global card P&L, managing co-brand KPI’s, financial performance and budgets
  • Develops global card strategy and identifies opportunities for co-brand card product and geographic expansion
  • Oversees existing relationships with Chase and American Express
  • Oversees and extends international co-brand card relationships
  • Leads Business Development and co-brand negotiations in partnership with Corporate Business Development team
  • Evolves and refreshes card benefits to remain competitive in the marketplace
     
    Acquisition Marketing
  • Oversees the development of marketing and promotions to drive acquisitions of new card members in digital channels, mobile, and CEC, partnering with channel owners
  • Develops customer lifecycle marketing and acquisition offer optimization to target the right offer in the member lifecycle
  • Oversees the development of programs to acquire new card members on-property in concert with brands and operations
  • In coordination with Finance partners, manages external channel acquisitions
     
    Loyalty and Branding
  • Oversees the monitoring and management of card member spend, implementing promotions and other programs to drive share of wallet and lower attrition
  • Manages card member events and other activities to drive loyalty
  • Manages all creative and card brand changes, partnering with Loyalty Marketing to maintain current loyalty branding and identity
 
Gift Card
  • Ensures promotion of gift card products across the Marriott portfolio (e.g., hotel, restaurant, etc.)
  • Manages the Liability and operations of the gift card program
 
 
Managing Responsibilities with Stakeholders
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders across the organization.  Fosters a positive climate to build effective teams that are committed to loyalty program goals and initiatives.
  • Updates stakeholders on key initiative wins and opportunities, responds to concerns, and solicits feedback.  Engages leadership to develop and execute action plans to address gaps.
  • Assists direct reports with building and maintaining stakeholder relationships as business partnerships.
