Purpose

This position will be responsible for driving new capability, facilitate business requirements, drive functional designs, and implement process redesign and systems for Global Sourcing and Compliance. This position will work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Merchandising, Global Sourcing, our suppliers and 3rd party inspection/audit firms to ensure F&D's vendors are in compliance with the rapidly changing regulatory landscape.

Essential Functions
  • Lead the development, implementation and enhancement of all supplier compliance policies and procedures required to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and industry standards for the assigned categories and regions.
  • Drive requirements definition using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis - leverage past retail experience.
  • Capture requirements specifications by developing standard templates, using natural language and leading process methodologies (RUP, RPM, or Six Sigma).
  • Provide necessary definition, development and deployment guidance to ensure successful IT initiatives.
  • Develop and modify processes and procedures to delineate areas of responsibility, personnel requirements, and operational procedures within program, consistent with company goals and policies. Provide effective communication regarding issues, objectives, initiatives and performance to plan.
  • Develop and implement strategies to become a more competitive procurement function, driving enhanced economic value and offering new products.
  • Manage project implementations to ensure on time delivery of all functionality needed to drive our business and manage risk
  • Leverage technology solutions to maximize effectiveness and efficiency of the strategic sourcing process.
  • Areas of focus will be on Supplier Risk Management and may include some or all of the following audits, inspections and activities:
    • Regulatory Compliance (Lacey Act, CARB, EPA, Customs, etc.)
    • Social & Environmental Compliance
    • Factory Capability & Capacity Audits
    • Production, Pre-Shipment and Container Loading Inspections
    • Product Testing and Certifications
    • Identify, qualify and on-board new suppliers in accordance with F&D policies and procedures
    • Manage and monitor supplier quality and fulfillment performance
    • Develop and utilize dashboards/scorecards to track key supplier performance metrics


Job Requirements

Minimum Eligibility Requirements
  • Bachelors' degree (or equivalent work experience)
  • The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience in project management applied to Merchandising, Global Sourcing and Supply Chain
  • Possess good process experience/judgment and the ability to recognize key problems before they become major issues. Capable of recognizing opportunities that translate to bottom-line improvement.
  • A demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally within the company, as well as globally with suppliers and 3rd party firms.
  • A visionary who understands the big picture and can develop programs and processes that capture the true potential and opportunities that may exist - an "Out of the Box Thinker".
  • Ability to lead change and effectively establish high-performing teams by being a role model with high-performance standards.
  • Strategic thinking skills, including ability to make sound business judgments related to process and system initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills (i.e., development and delivery of presentations).
  • Well-developed and proven negotiating skills.
  • Direct knowledge of integrated ERP systems and world-class supply chain practices.
  • Good understanding of statistical methods, quality tools and methodologies (I.e. QFD, CTQ, DFSS, SPC, AQP, FMEA, Control Plan).
  • Must be detail oriented and organized
  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment

  • MBA or advanced engineering degree
  • Sound knowledge of retail
  • Training in Six Sigma
