About this job

Purpose

Responsible for greeting customers and protecting the assets of the Company by verifying merchandise and receipts as customers enter and exit the building. Correcting all discrepancies immediately and notifying the Manager on Duty of all discrepancies, as well as providing a weekly recap to Management.

Essential Job Functions

Shrink Prevention and Awareness
  • Verify a minimum of four Cashier POS transactions, every hour scheduled, for accuracy (SKU and Quantity). *Log all verifications on the Take With/Storage Buy Audit Log.
  • Check all Customer carts, coming from the sales floor, for proof of purchase (current receipt).
  • Walk all returned product, brought in the Front Entrance, to the Returns register, for verification by a Cashier or MOD.
  • Provide a weekly recap (Job Functions), to the Operations Manager, on a weekly basis.
  • Alert appropriate Customer Service Supervisor/Manager on Duty, immediately, to any receipt/Storage Buy discrepancies, while the customer is still in the store. Ensure paperwork/receipt has been corrected, prior to the customer/product leaving the store
  • Perform other duties, as may be assigned, by Store Management, Operations or Asset Protection.
Safety Standards and Awareness
  • Alert MOD, immediately, to any Safety Standards opportunities, discovered during scheduled shift (Lift Equipment Operation, Fire Protection, Hazardous Materials, Safe Stacking/Overhead Compliance, PPE, etc.).
Customer Service
  • Greet Customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Direct Customers to appropriate sales department or sales associate.
  • Learn products, systems and Policies pertinent to job function.
Job Requirements

Minimum Eligibility Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1 year of retail sales, loss prevention or customer service experience, or a combination of education (Criminal Justice) and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the Company. Additional relevant experience can be substituted for the required, education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills (provide weekly job function recap, to include verified discrepancies, recoveries and training).
  • Excellent attention to details (paperwork/receipt validation).
  • Excellent communication skills (conflict management)
  • Demonstrated high level of attention to detail (identifying possible loss situations).
  • Self-starter.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality concerning projects and assignments.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proven problem-solving and team building skills
  • Basic computer skills including MS Word and Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast paced retail store environment.
