About this job

Immediate need for a Support Technician to respond to after sales technical support calls. The role will provide technical customer support during commissioning and after sales products. Support will be provided over the phone or at the customer's site.

Job Duties:
Commissioning
* Travel to customer sites and perform commissioning activities. Travel, will be, on average, 25-50% of the time.
* Work with customers and site owners to ensure tasks are performed on time, efficiently and safely. Coordinate with site manager the completion of tasks.
* Complete commissioning reports and other documentation and provide them to management.

After sales Support
* Serve as the main contact for all technical after sales questions.
* Respond to all incoming calls/emails related to technical problems that have developed after commissioning.
* Work with customers to solve all inverter issues and offer technical advice for site.
* Resolve issues by phone or through e-mail. May have to travel to site to resolve issues.
* Request assistance from management if help with after sales questions if needed.
* Use test bench to help resolve technical questions or problems.
* Track and ensure that all after-sales calls are recorded in company software for complete customer records.

Qualifications:

* Associate's degree in a technical field required, preferably in Electronics, Electronics Engineering or solar/PV required. 3+ years relevant experience required, in lieu of degree.
* OSHA-10, NFPA 70E, First Aid/CPR, QEW certificates preferred.
* Must have at least one year experience as an electronics technician. Experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting PV systems preferred.
* Previous solar experience preferred.
* Electrical knowledge/training required. Ability to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical schematics, technical manuals, procedures and regulations
* Must have excellent troubleshooting skills.
* Understanding of NEC codes that relate to PV installations preferred.
* Experience responding and resolving technical questions over the phone preferred.
* Must be willing and able to travel both nationally and internationally in response to customer calls. Must be available to travel on short notice.
