Position Overview:
QuadMed, an employer-sponsored healthcare model that operates and manages medical clinics at Quad/Graphics sites and other businesses, is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to provide oversight for laboratory services at various QuadMed locations across the country. This position is full-time.
Responsibilities of this position include supervising the performance of both waived and moderately complex laboratory testing following standard policy and procedure developed for all locations.  Supervision of testing will include the implementation and monitoring of quality control programs and  providing technical support to troubleshoot analyzer concerns including quality control trends and shifts.  Participate in the development of new procedures and design and supervise training and implementation system wide of those procedures. Supervise various staff functions including hiring, scheduling and training.  Communicate in a professional manner and courteous manner to patients, other medical staff and physicians when answering questions or providing other information.   Should be proficient in phlebotomy and able to train and supervise phlebotomy procedures. 
This position will report directly to the Laboratory Manager.
Required Qualifications:
This individual will also alternate as a trainer for new laboratory staff to include travelling to new or existing clinic locations to perform on-site training and support.  DATIA drug screen collection certification and Breath Alcohol Technician Certification will be required and provided if needed.  CPR Certification is also required.
Strong computer skills are essential as well as excellent communication skills.  Previous experience educating and training others is preferred. The ability to work unsupervised will be expected.  Strong troubleshooting skills required.
Requirements for this position include at minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field from an accredited School as well as Board Certification from ASCP (American Societ for Clinical Pathology).  Five years of laboratory experience desired.  Travel is required and could make up 25% of the position.
