Automation Personnel Services is now hiring for a Service tech position. This is a temp to hire full time position in the North Houston area. Drug Screen required.

Associated Duties:

1) Testing of all AMCS, Control Unit assemblies to ensure that the devices are fully functional prior to shipping to the customer.
2) Communication with the customer to obtain necessary WAN data and site specific product data necessary for the configuration of the AMCS SD Card and the AMCS Server for a specific site prior to shipping to the customer. This would include the collection of the information and the subsequent configuration of the SD Card and the Server.
3) Be the subject matter expert on the AMCS and provide first chair support for all AMCS issues.
4) Maintain and update the warranty database within the Bridge Track system.
5) Provide third chair technical phone support to customers and installers experiencing problems.
6) Every third week will be responsible for all after hours call to the Technical Support Desk from customers experiencing problems with their electronic signs. This would include nights and weekends.
7) Provide accurate and timely written specifications to electronic assemblers based upon specific sales orders. This would also include a scheduling function determining which orders would be worked upon in a given day.
8) Accurately and efficiently record and maintain all necessary accounting records within the Pro Alpha accounting system for consignment digits to ensure that company owned product that is stocked in third party production facilities is accurately tracked and maintained.
9) Properly prepare warranty and service quotes in accordance with company procedures. Obtain and record proper customer documentation to ensure that orders are paid by the customer. Adopt quotes into orders after receiving proper customer approval, pull correct product from warehouse bins, and properly account for product being shipped to the customer.

Required Skill Sets:
1) Ability to effectively and efficiently multi task in a real time environment without dropping tasks and making minimal errors.
2) Ability to think and perform in a non-linear fashion.
3) Ability to utilize logic to analyze, breakdown, and resolve technical problems.
4) Ability to communicate effectively regarding technical issues with convenience store personnel who have no technical knowledge and limited ability to communicate in English.
5) Ability to be patient and maintain positive communication during stressful conversations.
6) Must have the intellectual ability and aptitude to learn and understand the basics of wide area networks.
7) Ability to think ahead when organizing daily and weekly work activities. Ability to understand prerequisite and non-prerequisite activities and how they impact work flows. Ability to incorporate these aspects as well as time lags into planning schedules.
8) Must be a self-starter and be demonstrate ability to be pro-active. Must be able to effectively produce desired work outcomes within broad guidelines as defined by management with minimal guidance. Must know when to seek management direction when an issue falls outside of the guidelines or when desired work outcome cannot be achieved within said guidelines.
