Lockheed Martin's SOFSA Program in Lexington, KY is seeking a Technical Writer to join their team! For this position, candidates will be required to write technical manuals from scratch for various fixed wing aircraft, primarily the C-130. Candidates will be working on site, directly with the airframes, internal employees, and customers for this project.
This position will require an Active Secret Level Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Job Description:
Writes, rewrites (and/or edits) technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, maintenance manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences. Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, engineering illustrations, and trade journals. Oversees and creates illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. Conducts quality review of materials.
Mandatory Skills:
Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite. DOD experience. C130, military vehicles (aircraft or alike) experience.
Desired Skills:
Preferred experience with Air Force Technical Publications and familiarity with HC/MC/AC 130 aircraft. Familiarity with military standards. Experience specifically with writing maintenance manuals.
