Overview

Working with the Laundry Manager, helps ensures the Company Laundry Service is run in an organized and efficient manner within a safe and clean environment. Attains and maintains the required standards of the Company and the National Park Service.

**This position does not offer dormitory housing, must live locally or have an RV. Laundry is located in Columbia Falls, MT, right outside of Glacier National Park**

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Laundry Manager and Asst. Laundry Manager in all facets of the laundry operation.
  • Helps train Laundry Attendants and Washpersons in all areas of linen care and quality of the finished product.
  • Monitors progress of daily tasks and fosters a feeling of teamwork among staff.
  • Retains proper controls on inventory of linen and supplies.
  • Makes sure equipment is being maintained in proper operating order.
  • Acts as supervisor of all laundry personnel in the absence of the Laundry Manager and Asst. Manager
  • Takes linen off truck and sorts for the washers.
  • Washes linen coming off trucks per instructions.
  • Dries linen coming from washers per instructions.
  • Sorts linen per instructions, noting quality and quantity required.
  • Sends linen orders based on instructions.
  • Prepares linen for folding machine.
  • Operates fold / press machine.
  • Keeps work area clean and free of dust.
  • Enforces and follows all Company policies and regulations.
  • Assists in other job duties as requested or necessary.
  • Ensures accuracy in all areas of laundry payroll, assisting the payroll manager as necessary.
  • Qualifications

  • Technical skills in materials and inventory management, production scheduling, and preventive maintenance.
  • Knowledge of washroom practices, and laundry/garment finishing techniques and procedures
  • Leadership: A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to read, understand, interpret and comply with company policies and procedures.

  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching outward and above the shoulder for up to eight hours per shift.
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to push or pull items in caster bins weighing up to 400 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to wear earplugs on a frequent basis. Could total up to five hours per day.
  • Must be able to work in an environment close to large laundry equipment and machinery with moderate noise level. Ability to work in production area with occasional temps in excess of 90 degrees.
