Position Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to provide care and supervision to the residents of Monaco Ridge Assisted Living. Care and Supervision include, but are not limited to activities of daily living (IE: dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting, transferring, eating and mobility.) Provide emotional support and cognitive support for the completion of tasks.
Nature and Scope:
The Residential Aide assists or provides personal hygiene, mobility, safety and comfort to Adult and Geriatric residents as directed by the Administrator/Manager or licensed personnel.

The Residential Aide must be knowledgeable in the use of equipment specific to the Assisted Living and is responsible to annually demonstrate proficiency in body mechanics, fire safety, documentation, infection control, resident safety, and the handling of hazardous material. Will maintain 8 hours annual training as defined by NAC449.

The Residential Aid performing the duties of medication technician will provide this service demonstrating knowledge and principles for infection control, understanding of techniques used to preserve resident dignity, competence in the principles of medication supervision and skill at observation and reporting resident condition.

8. Demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality regarding resident rights and related issues.
9. Ability to demonstrate tact, courtesy, and dependability.
10. Ability to follow directions.
11. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, motor/sensory, psychosocial, and safety appropriate to the age of the patient served.
12. Demonstrate knowledge of infection control.
13. Demonstrate techniques to preserve resident dignity.
14. Demonstrate competence in medication supervision.
15. Demonstrate skill at observation and reporting of resident condition.
16. Demonstrate competence in the provision of resident safety, environmental safety, and body mechanics.

Education:
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English.

License(s):
State Regulations require 18 years of age. Proof of Age in the form of a Picture ID (Required), Fingerprints (Required). Current CPR certification by American Heart Association or American Red Cross standards and First Aid (Required) within 30 days after employed. Ability to complete state approved Medication Assistance Training Program (Required) within 90 days after employed.

Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
