As a BDR, your role is to seek out and engage companies that are viable customers, through strategic prospecting. To do this, you will generate interest through strategic phone calls, emails and social media platforms.

When connecting with a prospect, you will learn about their business challenges to determine whether or not we can provide the ideal solution. Once you have identified a qualified prospect, your goal is to communicate the value of the organization and gain interest in a deeper conversation with an Account Executive.

You will have a working relationship with the Sales Account Executives within your territory as your efforts will be directly aligned with theirs. You will collaborate with the Sales Executives you support and your fellow BDRs, to develop innovative strategies for uncovering new opportunities.

As a BDR, a typical day might include the following:

-Collaboration with your Account Executive on a plan of attack for new logo business

-Building your personal, professional brand using social media outlets

-Brainstorming with fellow BDRs to come up with new ideas and best practices

-Researching prospective accounts to turn cold leads in to warm ones

-Celebrating peer successes and working towards the monthly Top Dog award and other cool incentives.

  • You are competitive. Our BDR s love to win. Not only to be the Top Dog of the month, but to show that you are ready for your next step at SMS.
