Position Details

Provide dining service to all guests in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner in accordance with the Company’s GuestPath Universal Service and Operations Standards.

 Essential Functions:

• Provide prompt, efficient and courteous service to guests
• Maintain current knowledge of daily menus and prices
• Notify guests of food preparation techniques
• Ensure proper identification and age of guests prior to serving alcoholic beverages
• Serve alcohol responsibly; watch for signs of intoxication and follow proper procedures to discontinue service when necessary
• Ensure proper stock of all product and supplies needed for service
• Perform necessary tasks to service guests including:  taking and filling drink orders, providing refills, answering questions, and delivering food when asked, pre-bussing and bussing tables, etc.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for guests and fellow associates
• Reset dining tables and areas for guest use
• Monitor guest needs on a continual basis ensuring all requests are promptly fulfilled
• Perform as a team member and assist fellow associates to ensure a smooth operation
• Role model the GuestPath Universal Service Standards interacting positively through relationships with guests, coworkers, and supervisors displaying genuine concern and mutual respect for people’s needs
• Engage guests in conversation and make their experience memorable
• Greet guests positively, treating each person as an individual and in a professional manner
• Prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Complete other duties as assigned

 Experience Required:

•  High school diploma or GED preferred
• TiPS Certification
• One to three months related experience required
• Must  be able to obtain and maintain a West Virginia Greyhound Racing License
• Food Handlers Card

 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

•  Basic math skills including addition and subtraction
• Handle money transactions
• Excellent guest service abilities required
• Strong communication and leadership skills required
• Role model the GuestPath Universal Service Standards interacting positively through relationships with guests, coworkers, and supervisors displaying genuine concern and mutual respect for people’s needs
• Demonstrate skill in dealing with guest complaints, using active listening skills to defuse difficult and sometimes emotionally charged situations to maintain the guest’s goodwill
• Understand the goals and vision of the organization, and demonstrate commitment to those goals in terms of individual and team performance.

 Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand or walk 100% of the time
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

 Environmental Working Conditions:

• Exposure to secondhand smoke 
• Exposure to high volume noise

Candidates with past experience as Food Server, Restaurant Manager and Barista and that have worked in companies such as Dunkin Donuts, LongHorn Steakhouse and Cracker Barrel Old Country are encouraged to submit their application.
