Our Exciting Work Environment

Southland Park Gaming & Racing, owned and operated by Delaware North, features more than 1,900 video gaming machines, electronic blackjack tables, a poker room, live greyhound racing and simulcast wagering.  Southland Park is located in West Memphis, Arkansas, only a short drive from downtown Memphis, Tennessee.

At Southland Park, guests have an array of options for dining and other entertainment, including the World Market Buffet, Bourbon Street Steakhouse, Sammy Hagar’s Red Rocker Bar and Grill and the Shine Blounge.

The Opportunity

The Cage Cashier will handle cash for gaming guests in accordance with Company’s GuestPath Universal Service Standards and applicable Operational Standards, state and federal laws. Must be at least 21 years old. Must be able to obtain an Arkansas Gaming & Racing license.

Essential Functions:

  • Totals customers' vouchers or chips, and pays cash for the amount turned in.
  • Verifies personal identification of customers for cash advances or check cashing.
  • Exchanges funds accurately throughout the shift.
  • Keeps cash drawer balanced at all times.
  • Makes exchanges with main banker/vault as required.
  • Uses sorting and wrapping machines, credit card machine, computer, and 10-key calculator frequently.
  • Follows all departmental and state policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalency required
  • Arkansas State gaming license  
  • Minimum 6 months’ experience working with and managing large amounts of money, such as a cashier or bank clerk or similar position, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent guest service skills; ability to adhere to Company’s GuestPath Universal Service Standards
  • Basic math skills; ability to handle money accurately
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, noisy environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for entire length of shift
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to bend and stoop

Environmental Working Conditions:

  • Casino/gaming environment – noise level may be moderate to high
  • Smoky Environment
