The Sr Analyst, Space Management designs and delivers store specific and prototypical merchandise plans and/or store cluster specific planograms ensuring presentation, format strategies and category criteria are met. This position is a leader in ensuring effective collaboration between space/floor to ensure a final deliverable to store operations associates which meets quality control standards. The Sr Analyst, Space Management assumes additional responsibility for training/mentoring of Analysts, leading key projects, advanced analytics and driver of continual innovation.

The Sr Analyst, Space Management defines and executes each retail format s strategies and criteria in conjunction with competitive benchmarks and analytics, to develop and maintain sales floor layouts and planograms within the assigned areas.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Uses deliberate, structured, and systemic thought process to develop merchandising rule sets to generate high volumes of quality planograms and/or merchandise plans that consistently meet various business requirements; assists analysts in developing this skill set and in assuring business needs within team are met
* Executes quality control measures for planograms and/or merchandise plans ensuring accuracy of store assignments, compliance with strategic vision and/or corporate standards, and attention to detail
* Applies experience in constructing formulas within software applications (ex. Microsoft Excel) to produce compound filters, equations, if/then statements, etc. to generate planograms and/or merchandising plans maximizing productivity. Assists analysts in developing this skill set and in assuring business needs within team are met
* Provides deep analytical analysis using, but not limited to, Nielsen POS, NPD and Spectra data, to look for opportunities to develop a customer centric approach to the category. Reviews analyst's findings and assists as necessary in presentation to business partners
* Expertly utilizes all appropriate tools and levers to maximize space productivity, minimize unproductive inventories and ensure that financial targets are met. Consistently identifies opportunities and makes/documents recommendations to optimize space productivity
* Consistently maintains Merchandise Planning Criteria including in depth competitive reviews for assigned business areas with consideration for Key Performance Indicators, layout, space allocation, item placement and customer experience
* Actively leads continual process improvement efforts, evaluates planogram effectiveness and makes recommendations to maximize workflow efficiencies. Finds causal factors that can constrain performance and profits. Visibly drives for and delivers process improvements
* Provides store support regarding planograms and/or merchandising plans. Acts with a strong sense of urgency to anticipate customer s needs. Takes responsibility for finding lasting solutions to difficult problems
* Builds and maintains collaborative partnerships with Merchant, Inventory and Store Operations teams. Earns credibility and trust of key executives across the organization and store leadership teams. Consistently works cross-functionally to gain alignment on planograms and/or merchandise plans in accordance to strategic objectives while achieving the highest possible profitability of
SHC real estate
* Develops vendor partnerships to support efficient planogram development meeting corporate business standards. Coordinates projects as needed with Category Captains assigned to designated areas. Leads training efforts/development of new vendor partners

PREFERRED SKILLS:

* Knowledge of retail and supply chain processes
* Experience in supporting or managing teams and projects
* Knowledge of merchandise layout and space planning practices and procedures with the ability to analyze and interpret space and space productivity data

REQUIRED SKILLS:

* Bachelors degree in a quantitative discipline: Economics, IT, Supply Chain, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science
* Drive and influences change via behavior and enthusiasm in his/her work lead process implementations and drive mindset changes to improve productivity and/or profitability
* Microsoft Office with Advanced Excel Skills - develops/mentors others to strengthen skill (writing complex formulas or analytical models)
* Exceptional Analytical Skills & financial literacy
* Strong Presentation, Verbal and Written Communication Skills - must excel at communicating complex information in simple to understand yet actionable ways (words/numbers/pictures); must be proficient at communicating across all levels across the organization (including senior management)
* Strong attention to detail and sound problem solving skills for technical and business issues
* Conflict Resolution Skills - Able to mediate differences of opinion and utilizing/presenting data to minimize opinion based decisions.
