Job Summary: Position is responsible for performing various chemical,microscopic, serological, and bacteriological testing to obtain data fordiagnosis and treatment of disease; performs phlebotomies, performs generalclerical work and operates lab computer.
Qualifications:
* Education: Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS). Micro experience preferred.
* Experience: Six months to two years internship at an approved hospital site depending on the above program choice. For third shift, at least three years experience is required.
* Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure as a Medical Laboratory Technician by the Tennessee Board of Health is required.
* Equipment:
* Skills: The person filling this position must have the ability to verbally communicate well, must possess an appropriated manner, conduct, and ability to get along well with people. Hand eye coordination to perform tasks such as keyboard skills, invasive procedures, injections, etc. Frequently performs tasks, which require arm-hand steadiness such as invasive procedures, etc. Constantly required to concentrate on fine details with constant interruption. Constantly required to attend to a task/function for more than 60 minutes at a time. Constantly required to understand and relate to specific ideas generated several at a time. Constantly required to remember task/assignments at beginning of a period of time extending several days.
