CLASS A DRIVER - Full-time / Part-time

IMMEDIATE OPENING FOR A CLASS A DRIVER IN BUFFALO, NY! LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH EXPERIENCE AND A FRIENDLY PERSONALITY FOR THIS NON-PROFIT COMPANY!

Prefer someone with experience and understanding of the food values in fresh fruits, vegetables, and dairy items with a focus on utilizing and extending their useful life

Full time Mon - Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Flexibility to work Saturdays and/or Sundays

Responsibilities:

• Pulls and loads orders onto the Food Express truck
• Drives the Food Express truck to the scheduled agency sites
• Supervises the distribution of donated and purchased food to the public
• Upon returning, unloads returning product
• Provides accurate count and condition of product delivered and returned
• Delivers all signed receipts to warehouse office. Maintains the Food Express truck to include inside the cab and the bay doors of the truck
• Responsible for maintenance schedule, care, proper use and operation of the vehicle. Reports all Food Express truck maintenance needs to Assistant Warehouse Manager or Warehouse Manager
• Continually monitors the condition of all produce and on-hand perishable items
• Informs Order Taker and/or Assistant Warehouse Manager of the close dated items so he/she can promote to the agencies
• Assists Agency Services Department in expanded distribution of perishables to Emergency Food Relief Organization sites
• Responsible for daily noting of mileage and the Food Express truck's condition. Log registers as required by NYSDOT and USF
• Assists with special projects as requested

Qualifications Required:

• Must possess a valid NYS CDL A driver's license
• NYS licensed fork lift operator
• Able to lift minimum of fifty pounds
• Must have basic math skills
• General knowledge of produce, dairy, and other perishable food items
