A Successful Senior Python Developer will have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Mathematics or Engineering or equivalent experience and 4 years experience with Linux, including experience writing Linux scripts with bash or similar shell as well as the following:
- 4 years Python, Nodejs, or similar scripting language
- 1 year experience with performance tuning MySQL and/or PostgreSQL databases for a variety of environments and user requirements
- 1 year NOSQL such as Hive/hadooper/Hbase, Elastic Search, MongoDB
Preferred Qualifications:
- Using and configuring NoSQL environments, e.g. Hive/hadoop/Hbase, MongoDB, Elasticsearch
- Workflow engines and creating traceability of data through multiple systems
- Hadoop ecosystem administration and map-reduce jobs; Hive, Hbase, Impala, Sqoop, and Pig
- Database reporting systems
- SAFe experience working in a software development environment with software configuration management
- Setup, configuration, and maintenance, trouble-shooting MySQL and/or PostgreSQL replication environments.
The DISH metadata team, in Englewood, CO, is looking for an experienced and talented Senior Python Developer to join our growing Web Development team.
Responsibilities:
- Designing, building, creating, and maintaining python ETL scripts/services applied to various meta data providers for consumption by dish client services.
- Optimizing and enhancing existing NOSQL and SQL based services.
- Creating, updating, and maintaining scripts and data import/export processes for MySQL and SQLite databases
- Maintaining/Creating reports for scheduled execution and delivery
- Delivering ad hoc SQL-based reports combining data from multiple data sources
