About this job

Seeking a construction management trainee to work on a track from labor into management of the state's leading industrial and commercial heavy equipment/environmental contractor. Individuals will initially be trained as laborers and operators to learn the business, and they will be trained through time to become working foreman, foreman into superintendents. They do not see these hires as "laborers" but highly regarded prospects which they hope to replace their current superintendents with through time.

Individual will work in the field nearly 100 percent of the time. They will work from the ground up as a construction manager, and will learn each trade from a labor level up into a superintendent role. They will work on commercial and industrial sites primarily and will work in town and out of town. The work they do is heavy equipment excavation, wrecking and environmental work (mainly tear outs). Their out of town work is approximately 30-50% of the time, but the majority of it is within driving distance. When they stay overnight, they will be paid per diem ($20/night) and are paid for driving time one way. They are also given a hotel room. They generally work 4x10's and 1x8, but there are times where they will work up to 60 hours per week. They will work in groups and will be subjected to the elements as they are working outside. They will wear work clothing and PPE gear (hard hat, reflective vest, safety glasses and steel toed boots) are required.

Qualifications

-2 year or 4 year degree preferred
-1+ years of construction experience
-heavy equipment knowledge or demolition expertise is a plus
-leadership ability
-ability to work from ground up they want individuals who want to advance quickly into a leadership role, but are willing to learn the unique nature of their business and perform labor initially.
