Description/Job Summary

The mechanic will install, maintain, and repair equipment, physical structures, pipe systems, and electrical systems in an industrial setting using hand tools, power tools, hoist, crane, and testing instrumentation, and following specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic diagrams. The person will visually inspect and test machinery using electrical and electronic test equipment. They also listen for unusual sounds, and communicate with production supervisors and/or operators to detect and diagnose equipment malfunctions. The mechanic will dismantle equipment for repair or cleaning. The mechanic will be involved in a preventative maintenance program using inspections, routine replacement, and lubrication methods.

Responsibilities/Duties

Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.

Adhere to all safety requirements including: PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures, and Process Safety Management related matters.

Follow instructions given by your supervisor.

Make recommendations to the Maintenance Supervisor regarding problems, procedures and opportunities, which will promote efficiency of operations within your area of responsibility, Maintain a safe work environment, and Complete all of the daily maintenance paperwork.

Required Qualifications

Be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.

Have worked for one employer for at least 6 continuous months in the past three years.

Willing and able to stand for several hours, and lift up to 100 lbs.

Willing and able to work in wet and extreme cold and hot conditions

Willing and able to work around flower, spices, and various cleaning chemicals.

Must possess a fundamental knowledge of general maintenance such as electrical theory, fluid power, and basic mechanics, (Certifications preferred).

Must be self-motivated and able to perform at a consistent level while working unsupervised.

Must be able and willing to undergo continuous training on new maintenance practices and techniques.

Must be able to keep up with and understand maintenance documentation procedures.

Must be able to keep a flexible schedule and work weekends in order to meet production demands.

Testing and evaluation will be required

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent work history with previous industrial maintenance experience, especially in food production.
