The National Cyber Security Alliance seeks a conference director and curator responsible for managing and growing the leading conference in the country focused on addressing the nation's cybersecurity education, training and workforce needs by engaging a community that uses the conference as an annual opportunity to strengthen collaboration and generate solutions. The Conference Director and Curator will bring together a diverse community of government officials, academics, industry executives and civil society engaged in advancing varied approaches to building a robust cybersecurity workforce. The Conference Director and Curator will oversee and lead all activities related to the conference, from planning to executing logistics, working with vendors, developing content and marketing strategy, community building and overseeing the re-development of the Conference website and exhibitor management   The Conference Director and Curator will work with all NCSA staff in a leadership/collaborative way that builds on NCSA's deep culture of teamwork, being a neutral third party, partnership and collaboration with stakeholders, commitment to quality and year-over-year growth.  Responsibilities include: -          Serving as the project manager, providing overall vision, leadership and management of the conference -          Leading a conference advisory board of community leaders that provides overall direction of the conference and a program committee that will assist in the agenda development process -          Curating content, in coordination with a program and advisory committee, to create a conference that presents the most relevant cutting-edge information from the field that balances diverse approaches -          Soliciting registrants, partners and sponsors for the conference. -          Create and implement a marketing plan for the conference.  In year one, establish branding for the conference by working collaboratively with government and industry -          Lead site selection process -          Oversee all logistics including registration and delivering a high quality and seamless onsite experience for attendees and exhibitors -          Grow the program with new partnerships across sectors -          Working with staff to design and implement strategies, plans and procedures setting deadlines and insuring products have been diligently reviewed (externally and/or internally) before being released -          Dovetail work support of and in coordination with key organizational activities—National Cyber Security Awareness Month and Data Privacy Day -          Work with NCSA's communications and social media teams on year-round stakeholder engagement to generate and enhance interest in cybersecurity workforce development -          Be a collaborative member of the NCSA team. Participating in providing ideas to help a small but growing nonprofit mature over time -          Ensure all tasks are completed on time and on budget   Requirements: At least 5 years of nonprofit or industry experience in conference management including a significant leadership roleExperience executing large, first-class events with multiple tracks, high-level content, industry, academic and government leaders and bringing together multi-stakeholder groupsDemonstrated experience in creating a program with compelling contentExperience working as facilitator of partnerships with government, industry and nonprofit organizationsExperience in developing and implementing communications strategies, including social mediaSuperlative organizational skillsPreferred: knowledge in any of the following: cybersecurity workforce, workforce development, academic conferences or government conferencesAbility to effectively and efficiently juggle numerous priorities while maintaining a positive attitude and remaining supportive of staffManagement experience of 1-2 staffAbility to work well with diverse personalitiesAbility to lift and move boxes (approx. 25-30 lbs) To apply: If your skills, experience and enthusiasm align with this position's requirements and responsibilities, please forward a cover letter with salary requirements and a resume.
